Of Barns and Hay...

The Bel Monte 50 is Saturday. I've been running a bit this week, just cruising around, biding my time. I have no expectations for the race other than to really enjoy running some excellent trails. I hope to capture much of it on camera and a little of it in my brain. Weather report is iffy, but after this winter, I can't imagine any conditions that will be of actual consequence.

You'll be pleasantly suprised, I think. The solid base you've put on this winter will have you running smooth.

I keep thinking of canned fruits and vegetables when I see "Bel Monte 50." Not sure why.

thank you, gentlemen, for your words of encouragement.

jesse: i think you're right. the strength training and the base work has shown some promising results. i hope your winter-into-spring health steadies and ou go back to killing it as usual.

eric: BROTHER, IMMA RIDE WIT OUTTA CARE, MIDDLE FINGER IN DA AIR!

dave: it really does seem that, regardless of shoe choice, my feet feel very comfy running over a thick layer of crushed dreams. they really offer quite a bit of springiness.
